Blackbury Camp : ウィキペディア英語版 | Blackbury Camp
Blackbury Camp is an Iron Age hill fort situated in Southleigh, Devon, England. The ramparts are still relatively high, showing an unusual entrance feature. The fort occupies the end of a large ridge at some above sea level.〔R. R.Sellman, ''Aspects of Devon History'' (Exeter: Devon Books, 1985), p. 11. ISBN 0-86114-756-1〕 It was defended by a single bank and ditch, forming a roughly D-shaped enclosure approximately long and wide.〔(English Heritage: Blackbury Camp - History and Research )〕 A triangular barbican was added to the south but was never completed. The fort was probably occupied in the 2nd and 1st centuries BC by a cattle-farming community. ==References==
